IMPORTANT – CHEER UNIFORM FITTINGS

WHAT TO BRING TO FITTING DAY

  • All registration information is found online
    • The $295 Registration Fee must be paid in full by the Fitting Day Online
  • Bring a copy of the Athlete’s Birth Certificate

OTHER CONWAY FLACON’S REQUIRED FORMS

  • A current 2017 Physical Form (Dated after January 1st, 2017) will be due no later than July 17th. An athlete cannot participate in conditioning until a current physical is on file
    • Hard copy forms will be handed out on Fitting Day at the Dover Shores Community Center
    • As a fundraiser, any athlete needing a sports physical can pay $20 (All goes to the Conway Falcons) at Dr. Koch’s  – Essential Mind and Body located at 415 E Michigan St, 32806
      • Call 407-423-1616 for an Appointment and let them know you are with the Conway Falcons Cheer Program, they have hard copies of our physical form at their office
  • A FINAL report card, with all four marking periods, stamped by the school will be due no later than July 17th

WHAT TO WEAR TO FITTINGS

  • TOP – Sports Bra or Swimsuit Top
  • BOTTOM – Bloomers/Boy Cut Shorts or Bathingsuit Bottom
    • There will be a GTM Sportswear Uniform Fit Kit available for each a athlete to try on at Fittings

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE $295 REGISTRATION FEE? 

  • The Uniform Packet Includes: Ultrafuse Shell Top, Ultrafuse Bottom Skirt, Boy Cut Shorts/Bloomers, Kaepa Cheer-Up Shoes, (2) 6” Poms and a Reg. Season Game Day Bow
  • Do the girls keep their entire uniform packet? Yes
  • Do the girls get a Conway Falcons Spirit Tee? Yes. This is provided for by our Sponsors
  • What is not included?
    • Girls are to purchase their own ALL White, no show socks to ensure proper fit and comfort to each individual athlete
    • Competition Long Sleeve Crop Tops
      • These might need to be purchased for approximately $20ea athlete as the comp season approaches, dependent on the end of season budget
    • Competition Bows
      • These might need to be purchased for approximately $20ea athlete as the comp season approaches, dependent on the end of season budget

WHERE ARE PRACTICES HELD? 

  • Weekly practices are held at Conway Middle School located at 4600 Anderson Rd, 32812
  • Minimum of two practices per week throughout the season, details to follow as the season gets closer
    • After time change practices will be held at the Dover Shores Community located at 1400 Gaston Foster Rd, 32812
  • Please Note: There are no plastic water bottles allowed on the Conway Middle School Campus; Sports bottles only!
  • In general practices can be held at the discretion of the coaching staff, however in general rule 8U/MM, 10U/PW, 12U/JV & 14U/V practice on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 6:00PM.
    • Practices may increase to 3 days closer to competition time and can be changed due to weather

WHERE ARE GAMES HELD?

  • There a 3-4 Home Games
    • Home games might be at either Boone High School or Oakridge High School TBD (Boone is be renovated)
  • The 3-4 Away games are TBD but might be located in the following area: West Orange, Celebration, East Orlando and Kissimmee Areas
  • Is there an entry fee for weekly games? Yes. Anyone not rostered in the team book. Adults are $4ea. and Children are $3 ea.
    • Why is there a fee? Weekly field fees and insurance are costly. This entry fee and concession sales help the association cover the field costs mandated by OCPS and the high schools that we play at on a weekly basis
  • All playoff games are mandatory attendance for all cheer athletes

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • July 17th – Cheer Clinic, Two Week Conditioning
    • Location: Barber Park, 3701 Gatlin Ave, Orlando, FL 32812, Times TBD
    • Is this mandatory? This is not mandatory but HIGHLY recommended
  • July 30th – Mandatory Parent Meeting and Meet the Coaches!
    • Location: Dover Shores Community Center Gym, 1400 Gaston Foster Rd, 32812
    • This is mandatory for a parent or guardian to attend. Athletes are highly encouraged to attend
  • August 14th – First Day of School for OCPS Students
  • August 19th – Jamboree Season Kick-off Game
    • This is TBD on the date. Location and Times to follow
  • August 26th – First Season Game
  • Traditional Falcons Dance – TBD (Late Octoberish)
  • December 9th or 10th – End of Season Award Ceremony
    • TBD on date and location of

CHEER COMPETITIONS

  • Do all age divisions perform at cheer competition? Yes
  • There are three cheer competitions as follows:
    • Best of the Bay – 10/15/2017
      • Location: Polk State’s Winter Haven Campus, Student Center, Winter Haven, 33881
    • FYFCL Youth Cheerleading Competition/AAU Regional Cheer Competition, Could be October 29th or November 5th (Last year it was November 6th)
      • Location: TBD (Last Year’s was at West Orange High School located at 1625 Beulah Road, Winter Garden, 34787)
      • Entry Fee Was: Adults, $10ea., Children, $8ea. For ages 5-14 Free for Children under the age of 4
    • Showcase of Champions – 12/2/2017
      • Location: Polk State’s Winter Haven Campus, Student Center, Winter Haven, 33881
